Young Leader Training

So to be a young leader, there is training that the young people can get involved in. This training contains 11 modules, which are the training areas that can either be done online or in person (Other then module A).

The modules are the training that build you up to do the 4 mission that are done in the young leader's section weekly meeting. Below is a photo the badges around the edge respresent the modules (Click each badge for more information).

Module A is the part of the young leader training that is compulsory. This is the module that teaches the young leader about their role and responibities. This module has to be done in person with the area's training advisor. At the end of the training, the young leader will be given a badge to show that they completed their training and an orange card.

Missions

  • Mission 1
    • This mission is to run 3 games. (Top Left)


  • Mission 2
    • This mission is to plan and run an activity for the section that you are helping. (Top Right)


  • Mission 3
    • This mission is to attend and contribute to a meeting (e.g. programme planning meeting) (Bottom Left)


  • Mission 4
    • This mission is to planning and organising a selection of activities on a theme. delivery of those activities. evaluation yourself and get review/ feedback of the activities with the section's young people. (Bottom Right)

Orange Card


The orange card (shown below in a pdf) contains 2 main sections.

  1. The first is the Code of Behaviour, which describe all the rules the young leaders must follow when on any Scouting event.

  2. The second is a What do I do if. These are recommendations on what to if a young person raises a concern about them or any other young people to you.
